Jiang Chuan 姜川 Dalian, China, b. 1983
Born in Dalian, Liaoning Province in 1983, and he currently lives and works in Beijing. From 2002 to 2006, he studied in the Fresco Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). In 2004, the work "Image" won the first prize in the annual excellent works exhibition of CAFA. In 2005, the work "Nth Power" won first prize in the annual excellent works exhibition of CAFA; in 2006, the "Beauty" won second prize Wang Jialian scholarship of CAFA; in 2006, the work "Flame" was selected by Today Art Museum National Fine Arts College graduates Excellent Works Exhibition and won the gold medal.
Jiang Chuan’s work creates a romantic and mystical aura that invites the audience to trace back to the ancient memory of the beautiful nature; whilst at the same time submerges oneself into the environment that was once free of human destruction. His work consists of rich layers of structure and moral implications. Jiang Chuan’s works have been featured in many exhibitions across China as well as various international art fairs.
