Toil and Soil marks Chiu Wei-Hsiang’s first solo exhibition in a gallery, presented by gdm Hong Kong. Rooted in memories of demolished family land and shaped by his daily labor in caregiving, Chiu transforms silence into color and exhaustion into fragile yet defiant images. His works summon dignity from overlooked lives, preserve fading kinship, and insist on identity under pressure — cultivating survival in the fissures between soil and toil.
