gdm Taipei presents Power Unearthed, the third solo exhibition of Adia Millett with the gallery. Featuring paintings, textiles, and installations, her radiant palette channels an enquiry into the imbalance of power in the earth and the body, instilling anew the idea of the cyclical nature of life and reclaiming visibility for marginalized voices. The hidden economies of resources remain ever relevant to the exploitation of the land and of people, and the materiality of Millett’s wood panels and quilts offer the duality in this process: consumption and consequence are inseparable.
