Burçak Bingöl

Third Edition of Dior Lady Art

For the third edition of Dior Lady Art, Burçak Bingöl has been invited to reinterpret the iconic Lady Dior bag through the lens of 16th-century İznik ceramics and Ottoman blue-and-white motifs.

Her work explores belonging, cultural heritage, identity, decoration, and failure by blurring the boundaries between these seemingly distinct ideas. For the mini Lady Dior Art, the Turkish artist revisits İznik’s floral vocabulary—rooted in traditional Turkish faience—and draws on Ottoman blue-and-white colors and patterns shaped in dialogue with Chinese porcelain carried along the Silk Road, translating this heritage into a fluorescent palette with a tufted, tactile finish.
