What if light itself becomes the artwork? Light is everywhere. We use it to see, to find our way, and to create atmosphere. But what happens when light becomes the starting point?  This fall, DIEP Emmen opens the doors to its new venue with LUX, an exhibition featuring work by nine national and international artists working with light.

In LUX, artists use light to transform spaces, tell stories, and heighten the senses. Visitors can wander through luminous threads, step into a world of living microorganisms, and encounter works shaped by algorithms that change light and movement, unfolding as you move through them. The exhibition invites looking, moving, and discovering, from monumental light installations to experimental works where technology, nature, and imagination converge. The exhibition is guest-curated by John Jaspers, director of the renowned Centre for International Light Art in Germany.
