For the third edition of Dior Lady Art, Burçak Bingöl has been invited to reinterpret the iconic Lady Dior bag through the lens of 16th-century İznik ceramics and Ottoman blue-and-white motifs.
Burçak Bingöl created a series of distinctive designs shaped by her ongoing interests in ornamentation, transformation, and cross-cultural symbolism. “Cobalt Course” features hatai motifs, stylized lotus forms associated with blue-and-white porcelain traditions that traveled from China into Ottoman decorative vocabularies. Another design, “Iznik Enchanted”, originated as a watercolor motif painted by Bingöl and was later translated onto the handbag through a tufting-like application on patent leather, merging historical reference with contemporary fabrication.
