Lam Tung Pang

Lam Tung Pang’s first solo exhibition since relocating to Canada, Out of This World, opens at the Richmond Art Gallery. Through light, projection, and installation, he reworks imagined ideas of “home” and fragments of post-migration life—drawing on more than three years in Richmond and reflecting on shifting identity and belonging since leaving Hong Kong. Incorporating objects contributed by local residents and footage he filmed in Hong Kong, the exhibition examines how people renegotiate their relationship with themselves and the world in unfamiliar settings, with Lam’s recurring astronaut motif symbolizing this change in perspective.
