Featuring over fifty works generously donated by artists, galleries, and individuals, the auction brings together significant works by established and emerging artists from Asia and beyond. Proceeds from this auction directly fuel AAA’s ongoing work to preserve and share contemporary art histories in Asia, ensuring that these histories remain accessible for generations to come.
Wang Gongyi primarily works with printmaking and ink wash painting, and is among the few women artists who achieved recognition from prestigious art institutions in China during the early post-Mao era. “Eternal Summer” reinterprets the traditional practice of painting on silk through a contemporary language of abstraction and calligraphic gestures to evoke a sense of movement and impermanence. The title of this work elicits a desire to hold onto a season and the memories it carries, while acknowledging the inevitability of change.
