"Winterlicht" is a series of unique exhibitions of contemporary light art. Since 2006, works by internationally renowned light artists have been on display in the interior and exterior spaces of the former Cistercian monastery. The site-specific interventions using light elements, projections or expansive installations change the historic monastery architecture in very different ways during the dark winter months.
This winter season, the artist Jeongmoon Choi, who lives and works in Berlin and Seoul, will be performing in the distinctive exhibition spaces of the DA, Kunsthaus. The architectural characteristics become the starting point for complex, walk-through installations made of threads stretched across the space and fluorescing in black light. Like three-dimensional, walkable drawings, Jeongmoon Choi creates fragile spatial constructions which, in connection with the existing architecture and in the constant change of perspective of moving through, constantly generate new visual worlds, new realities.
