Jeongmoon Choi's solo exhibition Manifestations of the Line is on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey.
Manifestations of the Line
Exhibition period: 10 February – 2 July 2017
Venue: Gallery 5, Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey, Mexico
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey presents Manifestations of the Line, the first exhibition in Mexico by South Korean-born artist Jeongmoon Choi (Seoul, 1966). The show features a selection of works created between 2012 and 2017, including drawings and installations that highlight the intricate manual work of the artist and her team. Choi’s work plays with perspective and spatial illusions in a discourse deeply sensitive to natural phenomena and the environmental devastation we face today.
Much of Jeongmoon Choi’s work is based on extensive research on the current state of the planet in terms of geology and the environment, as well as the beauty and grandeur of landscapes and many other manifestations of the natural world, with the central focus being the connection between nature and the human environment.
