In conjunction with the exhibition, Master Liu will be holding an artist talk at the National Gallery Singapore on 5 August 2023 at 3 PM!

 

The event will commence with a conversation between artist Liu Kuo-sung, Eugene Y. Wang, Professor of Asian Art at Harvard University, and Dr. Cai Heng, Senior Curator. They will discuss the “Liu Kuo-sung: Experimentation as Method” exhibition, the newly launched exhibition catalogue, and “To the Moon”, an essay film directed by Professor Wang that explores the personal and artistic journey of Master Liu. Following the conversation, there will be a screening of “To the Moon.”

 

About the “Liu Kuo-sung: Experimentation as Method” exhibition --

The exhibition takes a retrospective look at Liu’s creative evolution through more than 60 paintings and 150 items from the artist's personal archive, highlighting his significant innovations and contributions to the development of modern Chinese ink painting.
