Wu Chi-Tsung

"Crystal City 003" is part of the M+ Collection, Hong Kong

Hong Kong collector Hallam Chow has generously donated Wu Chi-Tsung's "Crystal City 003" to the M+ Collections.

 

In the Crystal City series, Wu used clear, rectangular plastic packaging of different sizes to construct a miniature city and illuminated it with a moving light. The resulting cityscape of light and shadows is both a dazzling, romantic mirage and a pile of industrial waste, making the installation a sharp commentary on contemporary life.
