Adia Millett's "Warrior's Portal" commissioned for the Chase Center Art Collection's "Homegrown" series.

For the second straight year, Adobe has partnered with the Golden State Warriors to present the Homegrown Series, a rotating exhibit that’s part of the larger Chase Center Art Collection in San Francisco. A showcase of local artists, their communities, and their work, the 2025 "Homegrown" series features Adia Millett's "Warrior's Portal",  a striking, three-panel sculptural work that stitches together fabrics representing the diverse arra of Bay Area community members.

From reflective safety vests, African Dutch wax fabric, Mexican serape fabric, to camouflage fatigues; the color pallete, patterns, and textures suggest strength and vibrancy. The panels are embedded with five abstracted warrior’s jersey circles, invite you into an Afro-futuristic-inspired playground that exudes vibrancy and strength. To Millett, the concept of a warrior extends beyond sports, pervading the artist's practice at large. Noting the depiction of a spear with a crocheted tip, Millett says, “I love doing things that play between craftswomen and ancient warriors.”
