Alison Nguyen will be presenting a solo exhibition in late January as part of Storefront's new long-term research cycle and exhibition series, "Homelands". Delving into the political dimensions of memory, "Homelands" examines what is obscured or distorted in the dominant record—through the work of artists and architects who unmake and remake their connection to place.
The project unfolds through a series of exhibitions, performances, public programs, radio series, publications, symposiums and traveling research summits. "Homelands" invites audiences to consider memory as both a tool for reclaiming space and a means of asserting or resisting power—shaping, if possible, the understanding of what it means to remember, and to be remembered.
