The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco hosted an artist talk on 20 January 2024, bringing together Bay Area woman and queer artists Cathy Lu, Younhee C. Paik, Stephanie Syjuco, TT Takemoto, and Rupy C. Tut. Pushing beyond traditional imagery and narratives rooted in a male-dominated art history, these artists discuss how their own identities, experiences, and conceptual approaches speak to alternative histories and future possibilities. Moderated by Naz Cuguoglu, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art and Programs, this unique event celebrates the opening of "Into View: New Voices, New Stories," an exhibition showcasing recently acquired work by local and international Asian American and Asian diaspora artists.
