Curated by Ying Kwok, Marginal Notes, is the first program at the Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s new facilities. It features visual and multimedia works by 11 groups of local artists. The works span a variety of media, including textiles, installations, prints, digital art, drawings, and sculptures, delving into the past and present of the Wong Chuk Hang district.
Located in the southern part of Hong Kong Island, Wong Chuk Hang possesses a distinct character attributed to its natural geographical position, historical heritage, and urban planning directions. Over the years, it has undergone numerous transformations, resulting in a rich cultural legacy. This exhibition serves as a platform for artists to unearth hidden legends and anecdotes within the area. Like footnotes offering supplementary explanations, these different perspectives intertwine to reshape a more comprehensive community landscape.
