Galerie du Monde (booth 3C30) will present a showcase of 14 prominent diaspora artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, United States and Europe, featuring Gordon Cheung, Kongkee, Cathy Lu, Adia Millett, Alison Nguyen, Michael Müller, Young Sook Park (Kabinett), Tang Kwong San, Wesley Tongson, Tsang Kin-Wah, Wang Gongyi, Wu Chi-Tsung, Guanyu Xu and Zheng Chongbin. Juxtaposing the media of painting, photography, film, animation and installation, the power of these artists’ imagination is founded upon their multicultural and multiethnic background. The concept of “fluidity” is central to the artists’ practice and integral to all aspects of the work in the presentation. They extend their practice from examining the production of power in visual art, to the question of identity and forms of belonging, personal freedom and its relationship to political regimes.
