Peng Yi-Hsuan and Wu Chuan Lun in Conversation with Erica Yu-Wen Huang

14 February, 2pm

Peng Yi‑Hsuan (b. 1990, Taiwan) received his BFA from the National Taipei University of the Arts, and his MFA at the Graduate Institute of Plastic Art, Tainan National University of the Arts. Peng's process‑driven practice transforms everyday surfaces and found objects into civic palimpsests exploring public memory. Through a dialectical process of decontextualization, he investigates the possibility of constructing a history of 'neutral objects' within the specific sociocultural context of Taiwan. Parallel to his studio practice, Peng runs and programs Tu Xing Studio and Soil Space. His works have been shown at institutions including the Power Station of Art, Shanghai, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, having participated in the 2020 Taiwan Biennial.

Wu Chuan Lun (b. 1985, Taiwan) received his BFA from Tunghai University, and an MFA from Tainan National University of the Arts. Working across ceramics, found objects, and digital mediums, Wu investigates mass‑produced ceramics to trace material, labor, and colonial histories. His works invite viewers to reconsider the systems of perception that shape both human and non-human worlds. Wu has exhibited at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Gwangju Museum of Art, Rockbund Art Museum, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, as well as at the 2014 Taipei Biennial.
