Wu Chi-Tsung Donates Artwork in Support of ACC Taiwan’s 30th Anniversary.
gdm is pleased to announce Wu Chi-Tsung's participation in the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Taiwan Foundation’s 30th Anniversary Gala on November 5, donating his work Cyano-Collage 249 to support the event. The celebration gathers board members and distinguished guests from ACC New York and other Asian offices, including David Rockefeller Jr. and Susan Rockefeller, in Taipei. The showcase brings together works by Wu Chi-Tsung, Petah Coyne, and Chen Chun-Hao to symbolize a cross-regional cultural dialogue.
Wu Chi-Tsung’s close relationship with ACC dates back to 2013, when he received the ACC New York Fellowship for an artist residency. During the residency, Wu began developing Drapery Study, inspired by the classical sculptures of ancient Greece and Rome and their exploration of representation, the human body, and the sense of form and weight. This project evolved into an experimental deconstruction of oil painting, laying the foundation for Wu Chi-Tsung subsequent artistic practice. In 2016, he combined the visual concept of Wrinkled Texture to develop the Cyano-Collage series. Although this direction differed from his original residency proposal, the experience in New York profoundly shaped his artistic trajectory. As Wu recalls, “What I proposed back then had nothing to do with what I eventually created.” The ACC’s open-ended support allowed him to explore freely, and gain vital inspiration that continues to nourish his practice.
