Alison Nguyen’s “Change Order” is now on view in the Whitney Museum ISP Studio Program exhibition ‘At Odds With’. Curated by Juana Berrío, the exhibition runs from May 9-24 at Westbeth Gallery in New York.
The work draws from Alison Nguyen’s photography and the archives of two businesses sharing the same warehouse in Glendale, Queens: that of an artist friend, Serena Chang's family hosiery business and her own art production facility.
Part sculpture, visual essay, part archival preservation in process, the work questions ideas surrounding authorship, labor, migration, and value in the context of art.
