Artist Guanyu Xu will present his work at the upcoming group exhibition "HHÖØMMÈĘ" from 19 August 2023 to 9 September 2023 at CHAxARTxRTM, co-curated by CHAxART, DEVOLUTION, and Turning Pages. The exhibition brings together six Chinese artists including Guanyu Xu, who will address the theme of "home" that encapsulates all the phases of our lives and marks the directions we take—staying home, leaving home, getting homesick, and returning home. It embodies a term, a definition, a space, and a relationship that preserve numerous subtle details of one’s life while reflecting one’s deepest desires.The exhibition aims to present multifaceted perspectives of contemporary society through topics like family and personal space, prompting audiences to rethink the meaning of "home".
“SL-06172015-02112022” (2022) by Guanyu Xu will be exhibited in the show. Guanyu Xu is a US-based Chinese artist, and his art practice is influenced by both Eastern and Western cultures. Through his artwork, he seeks to highlight the production of power in photography to the question of personal freedom and its relationship to political regimes. In his work, Guanyu Xu migrates between mediums like photography, new media, and installation. These movements operate similarly to his displaced and fractured identity.
