"Temporariness as Formation"

Galerie du Monde is delighted to share Chicago-based artist Guanyu Xu is invited to hold a solo exhibition at Weitman Gallery of Washington University, from 10 February to 21 March 2023. Xu's "Temporarily Censored Home" and "Resident Aliens" series are featured in the exhibition. The former presents photographs in his teenage home in Beijing to queer the normativity of his parents’ heterosexual space while the latter explores the immigration status in the United States as a means of framing images that depict people who are suspended between countries and cultures.
