“All The World's A Stage” at Cape Cod Museum of Art

All The World's A Stage

Venue: Cape Cod Museum of Art, United States

Exhibition Period: 11 May - 24 July 2022

Galerie du Monde is delighted to share that German artist Roland Biermann's sculpture Under Cover (2022) has won the 3rd prize in the juried competition at Cape Cod Museum of Arts, as part of the ongoing exhibition “All The World's A Stage”. The exhibition title is inspired by a well-known passage in William Shakespeare's pastoral comedy As You Like It. The showcased artworks explore the possibilities of expressing theater, dance, and music.

Biermann’s Under Cover (2022) is part of his 2020+ project, which explores the impact of the pandemic on the individual and society. The artwork title is ironic and plays with the idea that nothing can stay undercover for very long these days. Arms and weapons do not remain hidden for very long, drones and satellites are watching us, cookies, apps and social media keep track of our daily activities. We are all on a stage and certainly cannot hide from the virus.
