Born in Macau in 1991, Kou Tak-Leong graduated with a master's degree in New Media from Taipei National University of the Arts and currently lives and works in Taipei. Specialising in light art, spatial, and landscape installations, his work is diverse in materials and deeply influenced by architectural education. Often integrating the layout of architectural spaces with bodily perception, the artist observes and captures existing elements within a space, transforming them into part of the creation. Through poetic interactions between light, people, and objects, as well as environmental measurements, the work explores the viewer's sense of existence and imagination. In recent years, his practice has expanded into various contexts, including theatre spaces, public art projects, and site-specific installations.
